Terms of service

Last updated: 24 September 2026

OVERVIEW

Welcome to Hemiks. In these Terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Hemitech Ltd, trading as Hemiks. We operate this website and online store (the “Services”) using Shopify. These Terms of Service (“Terms”), together with the policies expressly referred to below, explain the terms on which you may use our website and buy products from us.

Please read these Terms before placing an order. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms. Your personal information is handled as described in our Privacy Policy; it is not a condition of using the website that you consent to any optional marketing.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that the law does not allow us to limit, including your rights as a consumer.

SECTION 1 - ACCESS AND ACCOUNT

You must be at least 16 to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or guardian before placing an order.

You must provide accurate and current information reasonably needed to process your order, including contact, delivery and payment details. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activities carried out through your account, except where an unauthorised activity results from our failure to meet our obligations. Please tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission. You may not sell or transfer your account.

SECTION 2 - OUR PRODUCTS

We take reasonable care to describe and display our products accurately. Colours and appearance may vary slightly because of screen settings and natural or manufacturing differences. The product description and other information provided before you place your order form part of your contract where required by law.

We may change product descriptions, availability and the products offered for future orders. We may limit quantities or discontinue products, but a change to our website will not alter an order that we have already accepted without your agreement or a right permitted by law. Your statutory rights if a product is faulty, not as described or not fit for purpose are unaffected.

SECTION 3 - ORDERS

Placing an order is an offer to buy the products in your basket. An automated email acknowledging that we have received your order does not, by itself, mean that we have accepted it. A contract is formed when we confirm acceptance of the order or dispatch the products, whichever happens first. We may decline an order before acceptance, for example if an item is unavailable, we cannot deliver to your address, payment is not authorised, or there is an obvious pricing or description error. If we have taken payment for an order that we do not accept, we will refund it.

Contact us promptly if you would like us to try to change an order before dispatch. For most online consumer purchases, you may cancel without giving a reason by telling us within 14 days after you, or someone you nominate, receives the goods. You may email support@hemiks.co.uk or use the optional cancellation form at the end of these Terms. Send the goods back within 14 days after telling us you wish to cancel. You normally pay the direct cost of returning unwanted goods, unless we agreed otherwise or the goods are faulty. We will refund the price paid and, where the whole order is cancelled, the cost of our least expensive standard delivery option within 14 days after receiving the goods back or evidence that you have sent them back, whichever is earlier. If we offer to collect the goods, we will refund you within 14 days after you tell us you wish to cancel. We may deduct from your refund for a loss in value caused by handling beyond what is needed to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods. Any statutory exceptions to the cancellation right apply. This paragraph does not limit your rights if goods are faulty or not as described, or any additional rights expressly offered in our published Refund Policy.

Our products are offered for personal or household use. We may decline orders that we reasonably believe are placed for unauthorised commercial resale.

SECTION 4 - PRICES AND BILLING

The price payable is the price shown at checkout when you place your order, subject to any obvious error handled under Section 13. Prices shown to UK customers include applicable VAT or other taxes where required. Any delivery charges and the total price will be shown before you submit the order. If an order is accepted, a later change to our prices or promotions will not affect it.

Promotions and discount codes may have separate terms, which will be displayed with the offer. Where those specific terms differ from the general promotion rules below, the specific terms apply.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in the offer, only one promotional or discount code may be used per order, and it cannot be combined with another code, promotional offer or product discount. A valid code must be entered at checkout before the order is submitted; codes cannot be applied retrospectively after an order has been placed. Any eligibility requirements, excluded products and expiry dates will be stated with the offer. Our standard free UK delivery remains available for eligible orders.

You must be authorised to use the payment method you provide and give us accurate information needed to complete the transaction. For deliveries outside the UK, any import duties or taxes payable by you will be explained before you place an order where required by applicable law.

SECTION 5 - SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

We currently offer free standard delivery to UK delivery addresses accepted at checkout, using Royal Mail Tracked 48. This service aims to deliver within two to three working days after dispatch, although delivery may take longer in some postcode areas. This is an estimated transit time, not a guaranteed delivery date, and does not include order processing time.

Please see the delivery information shown before you place your order and our Shipping Policy for dispatch estimates and any delivery restrictions. Any different delivery timeframe for a pre-order will be stated before you order. Your legal rights concerning late or non-delivery still apply.

If your parcel is delayed, missing or arrives damaged, please contact support@hemiks.co.uk so we can investigate and provide the remedy required by law.

If dispatch or delivery is delayed by an event beyond our reasonable control, we will let you know as soon as reasonably possible and take reasonable steps to reduce the delay. Provided we do this, we will not be liable for the delay to the extent caused by that event, except where the law requires otherwise. If there is a risk of substantial delay, you may contact us to cancel the affected products that you have paid for but not received, and we will refund the amounts paid for them, including any applicable delivery charges. This does not limit your statutory rights relating to late delivery, non-delivery or refunds.

Products remain at our risk until you, or someone you nominate other than the carrier, takes physical possession of them. If you independently arrange a carrier that we did not offer, risk passes when we hand the products to that carrier, as permitted by law. Ownership passes when we have received full payment and the products have been delivered.

SECTION 6 - HEMIKS 1-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY

What this warranty covers

Hemitech Ltd, trading as Hemiks, provides a one-year limited warranty for Hemiks Steam Brush and BlueION products purchased new from Hemiks or an authorised retailer in the United Kingdom. This warranty applies to personal, domestic use in the United Kingdom and runs for one year from the date the product was originally delivered.

It covers defects in materials or workmanship arising during normal use in accordance with the product instructions. This warranty is provided in addition to your statutory consumer rights.

How we resolve a covered fault

For a fault covered by this warranty, we will repair or replace the affected part or product free of charge, following assessment. We will select an appropriate remedy under this commercial warranty, without limiting any right you have under consumer law to a particular remedy. If the same product is unavailable, we will discuss an alternative with you before supplying a different product.

A repair or replacement under this warranty does not restart the one-year commercial warranty period. The repaired or replacement product remains covered for the remainder of the original period. Your statutory rights in relation to the repair or replacement are unaffected.

What this warranty does not cover

This commercial warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, including cosmetic wear that does not affect the product's normal operation.

  • Damage or faults caused by misuse, neglect, accidental damage, failure to follow the product instructions, or use with an unsuitable power supply or incorrect voltage.

  • Damage or faults caused by improper storage, including exposure to damp, unintended water ingress during storage, or failure to follow the storage instructions. This exclusion applies only where those storage conditions caused the damage or fault.

  • Damage or faults caused by unauthorised repairs, modifications or unsuitable replacement parts.

  • Professional, salon or other commercial use.

  • Routine cleaning and maintenance, including descaling.

  • Limescale build-up and damage or faults caused by limescale, as explained below.

These exclusions apply to this commercial warranty only and do not restrict your statutory consumer rights.

Water use and limescale — Steam Brush

Use only purified water as directed in the product instructions. Do not use tap water, mineral water or water containing additives. Unsuitable water may cause mineral deposits and limescale to build up inside the steam system, leading to blockages, reduced steam performance or malfunction.

Limescale build-up and any damage or faults caused by limescale are not covered by the Hemiks 1-year limited warranty. This exclusion does not affect your statutory rights.

How to make a claim

Contact support@hemiks.co.uk with your order number or other proof of purchase, the product model and a description of the problem. We may request photographs or a short video to help assess the issue.

We may need the product returned for inspection, including disassembly by us or our appointed repair provider where necessary to identify the cause of the fault. Do not send products to our registered office address. Our registered office and warranty returns address are different. Please contact us before sending a product so we can give you the correct return address and instructions. Do not attempt to dismantle the product yourself.

For a valid claim under this warranty, we will arrange or reimburse reasonable return delivery costs and cover the cost of sending the repaired or replacement product back to you. We will also meet any delivery or other costs that we are required to bear under consumer law.

If our assessment finds that a fault is not covered, we will explain the reason. Any chargeable inspection, cleaning, repair or delivery service will require your agreement to the relevant charges before those charges are incurred.

The warranty provider is Hemitech Ltd, 483 Green Lanes, London N13 4BS, United Kingdom. This is our registered office, not our warranty returns address. Please contact support@hemiks.co.uk for the correct address before sending any product.

Your statutory rights

Your products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. Depending on the circumstances, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, price reduction or refund under consumer law. These rights are not limited to the one-year warranty period and are not affected by this warranty or its exclusions.

SECTION 7 - INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Unless stated otherwise, the website and its text, images, product materials, designs, logos and other content belong to Hemiks or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may use the website and view its content for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, distribute, modify or commercially exploit our content without prior written permission, except where permitted by law. The Hemiks and Shopify names and marks belong to their respective owners.

SECTION 8 - OPTIONAL TOOLS

We may make optional tools offered by independent third parties available through our website. Such tools may be subject to the third party’s own terms and privacy information. If you choose to use them, please read those terms. We are not responsible for independent third-party tools that we do not provide or control, except to the extent that liability cannot lawfully be excluded. This section does not limit our responsibilities for products you buy from us or for services we provide.

SECTION 9 - THIRD-PARTY LINKS

Our website may link to independent third-party websites. We do not control their content, products or practices. If you choose to visit an independent site or purchase directly from it, its own terms will apply. This section does not reduce our responsibility for your purchase from Hemiks.

SECTION 10 - RELATIONSHIP WITH SHOPIFY

Our store is hosted on Shopify, which provides the technology used to operate it. Your contract for products purchased from this store is with Hemitech Ltd, trading as Hemiks. Shopify is not the seller of those products. This does not exclude any rights you may have against Shopify that cannot lawfully be excluded.

SECTION 11 - PRIVACY POLICY

Please see our Privacy Policy for information about how personal data is collected and used in connection with this website. Shopify also processes some personal data to operate the store; its privacy information explains its own practices. Marketing choices, where available, are separate from your agreement to these Terms.

SECTION 12 - FEEDBACK

If you submit a review, suggestion or other content (“Feedback”), you confirm that you have the right to submit it and that it is lawful and does not infringe anyone else’s rights. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and use that Feedback in connection with our business and marketing, including on our website and social channels. We may remove Feedback that is unlawful, misleading, abusive or otherwise breaches these Terms. We are not required to publish or respond to Feedback. These Terms do not affect any rights you have under data protection law.

SECTION 13 - ERRORS, INACCURACIES AND OMISSIONS

We may correct mistakes in product information, availability, delivery information and pricing. Before accepting an order, we may decline it because of an obvious error and will refund any payment already taken. If an error is found after acceptance, we will contact you to agree how to proceed; we will not unilaterally change the agreed price or product except where the law permits it. Your statutory rights remain unaffected.

SECTION 14 - PROHIBITED USES

You must not use the website for unlawful purposes; infringe the rights of others; post malicious code, spam or fraudulent information; impersonate someone else; interfere with the website’s security or operation; collect other users’ personal data without authority; or use automated access to overload the website, bypass access controls or extract its content without permission. We may take proportionate steps, including restricting access, where reasonably necessary to address a breach, suspected fraud or a security risk.

SECTION 15 - TERMINATION

You may stop using the website at any time. We may suspend or end access to an account where there is a material breach of these Terms, suspected fraud or a security risk, and will give notice where reasonably practicable. Ending access does not remove either party’s rights or obligations relating to an order already accepted or a matter that arose before access ended. Provisions that by their nature need to continue, including intellectual property, Feedback, liability, governing law and privacy obligations, will continue as applicable.

SECTION 16 - WEBSITE AVAILABILITY AND PRODUCT RIGHTS

We aim to keep the website available and its general information current, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may temporarily suspend access for maintenance, security or reasons beyond our reasonable control. Information of a general nature on the website is not a substitute for the product details supplied as part of your order. Nothing in this section excludes the legal standards or remedies that apply to products we sell.

SECTION 17 - LIABILITY

We are responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable when the contract was made. Products sold for personal use are not supplied for business purposes, and we are not liable for business losses such as lost profits or lost revenue.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, liability for defective products where it cannot lawfully be excluded, or any statutory consumer rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

SECTION 18 - SEVERABILITY

If any part of these Terms is held to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

SECTION 19 - WAIVER AND ENTIRE AGREEMENT

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, this does not mean that we have waived our right to enforce it later. These Terms, together with the order information and policies expressly incorporated into your purchase, set out our agreement with you. Nothing here limits rights arising from statements or information that cannot lawfully be excluded, or from fraud or misrepresentation.

SECTION 20 - ASSIGNMENT

You may not transfer your account to another person. We may transfer our rights and obligations under an order to another business only if this does not reduce your rights under these Terms or applicable law. If that happens, we will tell you how to contact the new business.

SECTION 21 - GOVERNING LAW

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your place of residence apply. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may bring a claim in the courts where you live. If you live in England or Wales, you may bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. Nothing in this section removes any other right you have to bring a claim under applicable law.

SECTION 22 - HEADINGS

The headings are for convenience only and do not affect the meaning of these Terms.

SECTION 23 - CHANGES TO TERMS OF SERVICE

We may update these Terms by posting a new version on this page. The version applicable to an accepted order is the one in effect when you placed that order; later changes will not alter that order unless you agree or the law permits it. For future use of the website and future orders, the updated version will apply from the date it is published or a later date stated in it.

SECTION 24 - CONTACT INFORMATION AND COMPLAINTS

For questions about these Terms, an order, a warranty claim or a complaint, contact us at support@hemiks.co.uk. Please include your order details where available so we can investigate. If a complaint remains unresolved after our complaints process, we will provide information about alternative dispute resolution where required by law.
