Help & care

FAQ

Answers to your questions about choosing, using and caring for your Hemiks brush.

01

Choosing Your Tool

How do the Steam Brush and BlueION Brush differ?

The Steam Brush uses controlled steam to smooth and style. The BlueION Brush combines blue light and negative ion technology to help tame frizz and static, with no water needed. Both use heated Microplates™ teeth and are designed for dry hair.

How do these brushes differ from a flat iron?

Flat irons clamp hair between two plates. Our Microplates™ teeth guide hair through more even heat as you brush, helping smooth each section with fewer passes and less repeated heat exposure. The result is a sleek finish that still has natural movement.

02

Steam Brush

Which hair types is the Steam Brush suitable for?

All hair types.

Can I use it on short hair or a fringe?

Yes, if the hair is long enough to brush through safely. Use small sections and keep the heated teeth away from your scalp.

Can I use it on wet or damp hair?

No. Use it on completely dry hair only.

What temperature should I choose?

Start low and increase only if needed. Work in smaller sections before turning up the heat.

How quickly does it heat up?

In 30 seconds or less. Wait for the display to show it has reached your chosen temperature.

How do I get the best results?

Blow-dry and detangle your hair first. Work in small sections, gliding from roots to ends. Avoid unnecessary repeat passes.

What water should I use?

Purified water only. Oils, fragrances and hair products can leave residue in the tank and may block the steam outlets.

How do I use the steam?

Fill the tank with purified water while the brush is unplugged and cool, refit it securely, then turn on Steam Mode. You can switch Steam Mode off whenever you want to style without steam.

Will the steam make my hair wet?

The steam is designed to smooth hair without soaking it. Begin with completely dry hair; stop using the brush if water droplets leak from it.

Why can't I see much steam?

Steam is released from the centre of the brush teeth, where it meets your hair as you brush. The outer heat guard helps keep it within the styling area and reduces direct exposure to your face and scalp. That is why you may not see a large cloud of steam.

How do I know if Steam Mode is on?

Check that Steam Mode is selected. You can point the steam outlets towards a mirror without touching it; a light mist may appear on the glass. Keep your face and fingers clear of the outlets.

What if the steam stops or the tank leaks?

Check that Steam Mode is on and the tank has water and is fitted securely. Unplug and cool the brush before adjusting it. If it leaks or still does not steam, contact support@hemiks.co.uk.

Can I create volume or shape the ends?

Yes. Lift gently at the roots for volume, or turn the brush slightly at the ends for a soft bend. Keep heated parts clear of your scalp.

How do I clean and store it?

Unplug and let it cool. Remove loose hair, wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry it and store it with the cord loose. Never immerse the brush in water.

Can I take it abroad?

Yes. It supports 100–240V and has a UK plug. Bring a suitable plug adapter if needed.

03

BlueION Brush

What is BlueION™ technology?

BlueION™ combines blue light and negative ions to help reduce frizz and static. Microplates™ teeth smooth hair as you brush.

Which hair types is the BlueION Brush suitable for?

All hair types. For thicker hair, use smaller sections.

Can I use it on short hair or a fringe?

Yes, if there is enough length to brush through safely. Use small sections and keep the heated teeth away from your scalp.

Can I use it on wet or damp hair?

No. Use it on completely dry hair only.

What temperature should I choose?

Start low and increase only if needed. Try smaller sections before adding more heat.

How quickly does it heat up?

In 30 seconds or less. Start styling once it reaches your chosen temperature.

How do I get the best results?

Blow-dry and detangle your hair first. Work in small sections, gliding from roots to ends. Microplates™ teeth help smooth each section evenly with fewer passes.

Can I create volume or shape the ends?

Yes. Lift gently near the roots for volume and turn the brush at the ends for a soft bend.

How do I clean and store it?

Unplug and let it cool. Remove loose hair, wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry it and store it with the cord loose. Never immerse it in water.

Does it switch off automatically?

Yes. It supports 100–240V and has a UK plug. Bring a suitable plug adapter if needed.

Returns & Warranty

Can I return my brush?

Yes. You have 21 calendar days, starting the day after delivery, to tell us you wish to return it. Email support@hemiks.co.uk for instructions, then send it back within 14 days of notifying us.

Can I return it after opening the box?

Yes. Opening the box for a reasonable inspection does not prevent a return. Please send the brush back in good condition with its original box, packaging inserts and all accessories. We may deduct from the refund if handling beyond necessary inspection reduces its value.

Do I pay for return postage?

For a change-of-mind return, you normally pay return postage. If the product is faulty or we sent the wrong item, contact us and we will arrange the appropriate next steps.

What if my brush arrives damaged or develops a fault?

Email support@hemiks.co.uk with your order number and a description or photo of the issue. We will help with the next steps.

Is there a warranty?

Yes. Both brushes have a one-year limited warranty against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Where should I send a return or warranty claim?

Contact support@hemiks.co.uk first. We will provide the correct address and instructions; our registered office is not a returns address.
